Films to see

Similarly to its prequel, Elvira's Haunted Hills is one of the most underrated films of all times. If you liked the first film, you'll definitely like this one. Nonetheless, the two films are actually very different in both style and atmosphere. Elvira's Haunted Hills is a very interesting sequel because the story isn't set after the first film but a long time before, and none of the characters are the same and it doesn't even take place in the same country. It therefore has a very fresh feel to it and the whole thing is positively lovely.

This film has a looser structure but that is more fitting for its genre, which could be best summarized as horror film parody. There are some slight deviations towards other genres but this seems to be the main one. The film is packed with jokes, some less and some more absurd, which is creating a very special dreamy atmosphere to the whole thing. The delightful thing is that a lot of jokes come from different layers of the film, so you have to watch it very carefully to make sure you don't miss any. You will also find that Elvira's Haunted Hills is making fun of the film as a medium itself, which is refreshing.

The only downside of the film is that it contains one scene which isn't exactly suited for people with a weak stomach, though it is an integral part of the genre and it wouldn't be the same without it. This is definitely a film to see.
