Florence Foster Jenkins

Florence Foster Jenkins is a tender historical drama that delivers a very touching portrait of the eponymous woman.

This film is very easy and enjoyable to watch. The story has a very naturally-feeling progression to it, and the characters develop along it nicely. It doesn't matter whether you are familiar with the subject or not, because the film will ease you in by good foreshadowing. There are some amazing performances. If you had any doubts about the acting skills of any of the leading roles, they will give you a pleasant surprise with their sincere and yet incredibly funny and well-timed delivery.

This film does a great job at mixing humour and pity, which seems to be the aim. It doesn't show the world in black and white, but instead lets the audience sympathise with all parties involved. It will make you laugh out loud and perhaps also cry a little. It's definitely worth seeing.
