Paddington 2 is even better than the first film. It retains the same sweet marmalade-flavoured charm and offers new and even more exciting adventures that viewers of all ages will enjoy.

This film has avoided the curse of the sequel by a whole mile. It doesn't attempt to imitate the first film or copy its successful bits; instead, it is a brand new adventure for the little bear that brings with it some new, very endearing characters and a host of memorable scenes.

Parts of the plot show a kind of charming naivety that ensures that the spirit of this film remains true to the original books. This mixes well with the otherwise intricate nature of the story to simplify the unimportant bits and concentrate on the important elements while also retaining plot integrity.

Paddington 2 is packed with action and yet finds time to promote kindness and friendship. It will certainly entertain and amuse viewers of all ages (but perhaps not for the same reasons - there are a few references for adult audience only that make this a truly brilliant film for the whole family), but just like the previous film, it also has an educational aspect to it. As we all very well know, good manners, kindness and diversity are very important.

We can say with full confidence that Paddington 2 is on course to become a veritable family favourite. In all likelihoods, this is a film that you will want to watch and rewatch whoever you are - adult or child, human or bear.
